  • Commodore Returns?

I found this article from this year on our college database!

Iconic "retro" video games brand Commodore is phasing in a series of retail outlets in the UK and Ireland as part of a dramatic return to the games arena.
A Commodore spokesman says the first stores will open in the UK and Ireland with further outlets to follow in France, Germany and the Benelux region. He says this is the first stage of a global roll- out of the retail store concept, which forms part of the brand's re- entry into PC gaming.
Commodore Gaming announced its return to the games world earlier this year (MW March 8) and this week opened an online store with high-specification gaming PCs available from pound 1,759. The online store opens across Europe later this month.
As part of the online offering, the iconic 1970s/1980s video games brand is offering consumers the chance to customise their PCs with a choice of 100 different "C-kins".
Commodore says the Commodore PCs "can be personalised to a degree that has never been seen before, effectively making them an open and inviting canvas for graphic artists, painters and photographers worldwide".
Observers say that Commodore's return to the games market is well- timed since industry experts have tipped the PC gaming market for a revival.
Microsoft's Windows Vista operating system has made much of its gaming capabilities, while analysts say the rise of online gaming has seen more consumers use PCs for gaming.

It's totally not true. They're pretty much just making somewhat interesting looking cases for their fairly generic boxes of shit and die (as they're using Vista...)

They don't. It's only a name now, heh. The original company went under I believe around a decade ago.
