Years ago people were talking about some kind of tech, I can't remember what, probably another graphene fantasy. They were saying we'd have flat screen TVs that were basically the same as a simple bendable flat sheet of plastic that had all it needed to function like some kind of perfect HD TV or whatever. I'm still waiting on whatever that was. It was either a TED Talk or back when I cared enough to still read science stuff from various sites like scienceblog.com.

I predicted years ago that someday soon we'll have holographic television (so we'll literally be immersed in our favorite shows). That day hasn't arrived yet, but we're pretty damn close (what with VR and Microsoft's Kinect add-on to the 360 and XBox One). Also, we're basically only one or two steps away from truly photorealistic graphics in games and CG-powered movies and TV shows. The only thing left after that...is human-level AI opponents. Skynet awaits.
