New Weapons in Black Ops 4...

With Operation Absolute Zero, there are now 3 new weapons available for PS4 players like me. - the Swat RFT assault rifle, the Daemon RXB submachine gun, & the Secret Santa melee weapon. Playing Hardcore FFA, I used the Swat first & got 24 kills with it, but to my dismay, I saw it hadn't leveled up a bit! After experimenting a bit, I found it was a temporary glitch. When I switched classes & used the Daemon & Secret Santa I saw both were leveling up as i scored kills. When I went back to the Swat next game, it,too then leveled up! Prob solved!


Here are my first impressions of all three weapons...

Swat...This is a terrific assault rifle, with high damage,good fire rate, but only fair, but not bad, accuracy.. The 35-round magazine capacity doesn't hurt,either! Also, its range is a little less than with the other ARs (except for that shitty Maddox), but the Long barrel attachment cures that. ONE OF THE BETTER ARs!

Secret Santa...Loox like a crowbar with Christmas wrspping. has no more range nor speed than other melee weapons. However, I generally don't use melee weapons, preferring to keep the hellion launcher or Mog shotgun as my secondary.. OK IF YOU LIKE MELEE WEAPONS, BUT NOTHING SPECIAL !

Daemon...I was IMPRESSED THE WRONG WAY by this'n! Not too accurate, and VERY WEAK! Playing hardcore FFA, I blasted an opponent at close range with a 3 round burst; he was unfazed & killed me with 1 shot! I found it took 5 hits to kill an unarmored opponent ; 6 hits to kill an armored one in hardcore! i was trashed several times because, in shootouts, the opponent had a more-powerful gun & killed me while surviving my fire. THE WORST OF THE SMGs, at least in multiplayer games. This might be a fine weapon in modes other than Multiplayer. I don't know.

To me, the Maddox is the poorest AR so far, in Multiplayer, but it's a fine weapon in other modes. Maybe the Daemon will be the same.

But with the Swat, one-hit kills are the norm in Hardcore.

I thought I'd give the Daemon another chance, so I used it in hardcore FFA Nuketown. My results? 5 kills, 24 deaths. Again, I blasted enemies at close range & not killed them with a 3-round burst. Plus, this gun's accuracy leaves much to be desired. So, for me personally, I must conclude it's a piece of shit in multiplayer games. OTOH, I've maxed out the Swat RFT's prestige.. It's one of the best weapons in the game!

As detailed in the patch notes for Days of Summer, the new weapons - including a Vendetta sniper rifle, S6 Stingray tactical rifle, Peacekeeper assault rifle, Locus bolt-action sniper rifle and Ballistic Knife - sound pretty damn awesome.
