Ok, here's my take I have said a few times spread over twitter. I think some of the issues are just baseless complaints because people are expecting more from a console that is designed to bring nostalgia to original fans. I can see how Sony was a little lazy in delivering the open source emulators. I understand why Sony didn't include many extras to make the games play and display as originally intended as close as possible to the original experiences, at the same time it does feel lazy. I'm not faulting Sony, but they are an overall typical corporation that has made questionable quality products and decisions, so what should you expect?

The game selection is overall well-balanced but there are some odd choices such as Battle Arena, Rainbow 6. For $100, two controllers and only 20 games I feel like there could have been at least 25 titles and included at least one Crash game, Tomb Raider, and one or two real-time strategy game such as Army Men 3D or Command & Conquer Red Alert Retaliation or worms. I think IQube is a really good choice because it is an expensive game and not a lot of people experienced the unique puzzle game. I remember when we first played it on a demo disc (a friend later gave me one in school, and I found it again at a flea market in a random place), so I think that also holds a lot of nostalgia for a lot of people. Destruction Derby is a better choice than the second game because of the racing modes, better soundtrack even though the game has some issues with earlier graphics and camera angles. Twisted Metal 2 would have been a better choice, Puzzle Fighter II is also a good puzzle game that was on my list of games I wanted.

I don't see myself buying one unless the opportunity comes up or if someone decides to gift me one (I'd rather money tbh). I own an original model PS1, PS2 and PSP with tons of games so I'm good to go already. The system has some issues but it's not as bad as everyone says coming from my perspective, I just find it redundant in my collection. The controller length is definitely better than the NES Classic's and I have a million USB wall adapters. Good? Bad? You decide.
