Suspected Female Shooter At YouTube Headquarters In California Is Dead — Victims Transferred To Hospitals
Four or five patients were reportedly transferred to area hospitals after a shooting at the YouTube headquarters in San Bruno, California.
The suspected shooter, a woman, is dead of an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound. The individuals transferred to area hospitals are believed to be alive, with one in critical condition, according to initial reporting on MSNBC.
One of the survivors is reported to be the suspected shooter's boyfriend, according to the Daily Beast.
Shots reportedly rang out shortly before 1 p.m. PT as employees barricaded themselves in the building and made multiple 911 calls. Police informed the public to avoid the region near the YouTube headquarters and evacuated the building shortly thereafter.
President Donald Trump responded to the shooting on Twitter, writing, "Was just briefed on the shooting at YouTube’s HQ in San Bruno, California. Our thoughts and prayers are with everybody involved. Thank you to our phenomenal Law Enforcement Officers and First Responders that are currently on the scene."
The YouTube headquarters in San Bruno is approximately 13 miles south of San Francisco. Despite being owned by Google, YouTube maintains a separate campus from the much larger Google complex. The Hackmaster
