  • Man Ruptured His Throat Trying To Hold Back A Big Sneeze

(LONDON) — Tempted to stifle a loud or untimely sneeze? Let it out instead, doctors in England warned Monday based on the very unusual case of a man who ruptured the back of his throat when he tried to suppress a sneeze.

That's not too hard to believe. It's noticeable when you have a sore inflamed throat from a cold or the dry stale air from Winter, and then you need to sneeze. It can feel like the next best thing to coughing up double-sided sand paper. It's kind of odd I don't hear about this more often during Winter. If you hold in a sneeze, unless you can completely suppress it, that sneeze is going to either force air out of you or hurt badly. This sounds like something that will likely happen to me some day.

Yeah I know, Men's Health isn't probably a good source, but there you go. Just let it go.
        Same goes for farting.

I have tried holding in some bad sneezes with a sore throat before, and it didn't turn out well. It was going to hurt bad if I let it out, but it got out anyway ans was even worse.
