The pop ups are now so bad and obnoxious at the forums I got tired of being there. Are they that pressed for advertisers?

Someone at cmgsccc.com figured like this....

I had no idea it had gotten that bad. That's just... Horrible.

Might be worth looking into Firefox + Adblock Plus + NoScript. Seems to block most things without any extra configuration. For example, it's why I didn't know about the popups at that dumpster of a site.

I agree. I tried browsing that site with adblock plus disabled to see what all the fuss was about. Oh my god, what on earth are they thinking?

Yeah, I remember when the premium memberships started. It's not worth it to pay for one. They don't take requests (even when they did, he stopped filling them early last year) and the user created codes are usually found on the CMP anyway. I can see having a banner ad and some other strategically placed ads but what they are doing is obtrusive and damn near offensive.

luigi: CM has changed quite a bit. I'd say he had everything to do with the ads, especially since he runs the site directly. At the very least, he gave the OK.
