In all seriousness, this looks to be done by Rune himself.
Rob stopped coding *months* before this. Rune has just been stalling and in the past few weeks has been learning himself some php so he could hack together a lame search bar.
Six months? All we get is a search bar? Here are some points to consider:
-Wow, we wait six months for a stinking search bar with barely half of the previous codes in the database
-Rune even said he would not release an incomplete database. Search bar - N64 codes - GCN codes - DS codes = complete database?
Here are some points to support the fact that Rob has not been coding this database:
-It is very incomplete
-Extremely generic progress by Rune for the past few months shows stalling
-Suddenly, Rune has tons of "mini-projects" to complete after switiching back and forth between the project's completeness.
In conclusion, Rune is just trying to cover his ass by releasing a search bar. kthx

This 'launch' was even more half-assed than I was anticipating, and there is no excuse for it.
He has had over six months to get things done, and yet has failed miserably once again.
I asked LiquidMan how long it'd take him and Ugetab (The site's two primary coders) to do something similar (Not that we'd want such a thing), and he said at most it'd take 1~2 weeks, if that.
Allow me to expand on a perspective that was previously alluded to by Ace in this thread.
Rune calls this search bar of his a progress in the security of "his" code database.
So, I'm going to examine the pro's and con's of a search bar:
Pros:
1. It is claimed that this type of interface makes the code database more secure from sites that would steal and miscredit codes. This is the only "pro" that I am aware of. What is unclear to me is whether or not this is actually a pro. It forces a loss of accessibility, which is the main goal of any code database.
Cons:
1. One of the main goals to be achieved with a code database is accessibility. I've already had issues searching for n64 games that should be in the database. I searched for Banjo Kazooie and Banjo Tooie. These searches turned up no results. This new system is clearly a guess and hope type of interface. Not efficient nor accessible.
2. A mark of the level of completeness of a code database is the ability to see a list of its contents. Why should we waste our time searching a database for codes and games when there may (and is, at this point) a more complete database elsewhere that we can simply look at and know it has what we need.
3. This really is a pitiful example of a search bar. The level of information that is processed by the scripts is truly miniscule. If a search bar were to be implemented in any site that actually cared about what their users would have to go through in finding codes for games, they would at least make it a type of Advanced Search which would make searching much more user friendly and exact.
Feel free to post any more pro's and con's that come to mind.
Rune does not have N64, Gamecube, or DS codes up because the "database is enormous". He claims he cannot upload the entire thing at once which is complete bullshit

I believe he is planning on uploading the codes as he finds time to do so.
When you brought "nachos" (the backup), it was layed out in folders. Rune *should* be able to just upload these folders.

Rune's proclaiming his site hacked. Here's one of the files he's listing as stolen:
"GET /updates.php HTTP/1.0" 200 2124 "-" "http://Anonymouse.org/ (Unix)"
access_log_2007-01-01:85.195.119.14 - - [01/Jan/2007:17:50:15 +0100]
I'm surprised ANYONE would want to steal that file.
We'd better be on the lookout, or we'll get hacked, and end up with a record like
"GET / HTTP/1.1" 200 2974 "http://www.gshi.org/" access_log_2007-01-01:12.50.22.9billion - - [01/Jan/2007:00:39:48 +0100]
Such dreadful site-browsing fiends could already be regularly visiting pages linked from the index page of the site, or worse still, could be following links from those pages. Drastic steps will be neccesary to prevent people from viewing the index of the site, including taking the whole site off the internet, and mentioning any updates to the offline site on someone else's forums. We will be able to maintain a steady pace of adding a billion codes a day, as long as nobody can see the progress. Then, if we ever bring it back online, we'll conveniently 'lose' most of the codes, and have to start back from the last database backup from when the site was online.
note:
I use anonymouse, and am responsible for some of the entries in his list of 'hacking attempts'. Legally, it's his own damn fault if he doesn't know how to make PHP do what he wants, and didn't protect his include folder from trial-and-error downloads. The technology to prevent things from being accessible to the world is available in so many forms, that it's just piss poor security not to be able to do something so simple(see: http://www.gshi.org/ugetab/temp/browsable ). Such poor security most likely started out perfect, and rune spent 6 months softening it up to the point that he had something to complain about.
Rune is going to install my cousin William's custom GSC anonymouse block. All you will get when you logon to GSC with anonymouse is a picture of Britney Spears's vagina.
