Where would I find a Male 25-Pin D-Type to Female 25-Pin D-Type parrallel printer cable at?

Best Buy, Office Depot, Staples, & Circuit City (I'd include EBGames but I dunno if they carry this stuff) ?

You'd probably be best off trying either Office Depot or Staples. And, if there are any near you, any large 'home improvement' places that sell all sorts of stuff. Best Buy probably has some, but they'll be a bit hard to find, and likely the most expensive place, other than Radio Shack...

      Printer Cable.

Well, yes true, pretty much what LMZ said, I just had to reply out of pusre shock at how things in the world move so fast. (even ammong computers, yes we all know that techy stuff moves fast bug gosh....)

I mean well, I am sure all of you have noticed, walking around any type of anything with PCs at all stores... the ways of 'old' (that are nto really all that old anyway) are fast going. I myself not really been in PC hardware looking for a time, as mine is well not new, but rather Okay. (PCs are like cars the year or even day after it comes out, the enxt day it is old and soemthing better is otu there blahhh) Anyway I was in a computer store recently, getting a mouse, and found that I had to get a few other things as well...as computers just are not using the same hook ups as they used to....

I got myself a mouse I wanted, but also looked around and said, gahhh my PC is not 'that old' but even still if I am going to keep up, I'd better get me a USB hub as well. (a little thing that makes one USB hook up split into four by a box) My PC itself has a few USB hook ups, but gosh they are all sued, and from recently at the store ALL things are now USB hook ups... I mean gosh even printers and scanners, the 25 pins, the 13 pins all seem rare these days.

What is even more shocking as well...sooner or alter I guess we all knew all things were going USB...it is the 'new' thing after all. Saw a PC completely filled with USB slots on it, but even far more messed up then that is the thing had NO 4 by 4 disc drive. It's Arive was a small slot for a little memory card, or memory stick... which means well what we all knew 4 by 4 discs are going out, have been for awhile, to see a PC and any PC at that one the 'new table at the store' is rather scary. I mean well alot of old yet small programs I enjoy are on old 4 by 4 discs. Goosh Dex Drive is even on two old 4 by 4 discs...

It is just strange at how fast things go, I mean well we all knew it was always comming but gahhh I just really feel old now seeing how fast techy stuff jumps from one to another. Geeez heh I remember computers when all they were was a dos to boot it up, and those big butt 8 by 8 flobby discs you could flob around, and also when the computers only had one color, green text and black background heh....

But now...gahhh the A drives are now becomming little small tiny memory card slots...heck at leats it had a CD drive, but wonder how long before those also start going mini CDs and such and then all else.

Anyway back on topic, yes what LMZ said, though even at some of those office stores these days you may have to look around abit, as just explained last office store I went into 'everything' was purely and simply USB and or Memory card and nothing else.... the wave of the furture I guess.

I tried Radioshack a few weeks ago, but didnt have the cable name, I thinkI just confused the clerk with my lil' expanation, I'll call there and see, or gere's something I just thought up..

Liquid, could you find a cable there? And like I'll just pay you for it?

I couldn't buy a cable until I've got a job, and considering, that might be a very long time.

But, I did some looking around, and found these:

          http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olspage....9&type=product

          http://www.radioshack.com/product.as...duct_id=26-240

          http://www.staples.com/Catalog/Brows...&Sku=IM1115826
I'm not certain any of those will work, but they ought to.

I also checked Circuit City and Office Depot, and both didn't have this sort of cable.

Well, really if that type of cable is around or not, for sure there are always ways to order it from any number of online stores. (I am sure anyway, never ordered such a cable of that type, but seeing as anything, and yes I mean basicaly anything can now be ordered right to your door from the net these days, that should not prove to be too hard.)

May have to 'look around' (online quite alot) and do even more deep searching to get the type of pauments you want and wish. But as is and was saying everything in the world seems to be sold in various ways online these days.

              Printer Cable.

I've seen places that still sell comms link cards, so a rather generic cable like this should be much easier to buy. But, due to the usual lack of information with cables, it'd probably be best to buy online as a last resort. It'd really suck to spend money on one, and then find out it's got the wrong pin wiring...

is only $5, where as the best buy one was $10, and the radioshack one was just way over priced lol.

Thanks, I'll look more into the staples store we have in town, and dl the GSCC tools off your site. Do you reccamend that I first dl FlashGet?

                  Printer Cable.

It shouldn't really make much difference, even the largest version of GSCC is only about 1 MB. Though, you're probably better off not downloading it from this server...

                    Printer Cable.

I checked out staples in town they have a 6 foot cable but it's $9.95

So we'll see, since my pc doesnt have the internet (it cant run aol or earthlink due to lack of toltal memory) so I'll have to DL it on my mom's computer install it, then DL it onto floppy discs and upload it onto my computer.

                    Then.. get the cable.

                      Printer Cable.

The programs for that are fairly small. Both the official ones and GSCC could be fit on a single floppy if they're zipped.
