Diabetes is a bitch to live with. It's good to know advances in medical science have been made to help these people.
Now to wait 60 or so years for morons like the ones that refuse to give their children vaccines. They cured it over 10 years ago in Japan with functioning donor cells without side effects from what I remember. It's like nearly every illness I've read about over the years and stopped reading out of irritation. Multiple people have found multiple different cures, we'll be lucky to hear about them once and then never again. There's been stuff for diabetes, AIDS, ebola, anthrax, many cancers and all kinds of things. If it's not economically scalable in a way where a cure can be mass produced for very little to make a profit, I'd assume they'll strongly dislike it when people aren't "donating" millions and billions into a cure.

I often think what if Chace Morgan didn't pull the funding Tesla had if the world would be in a better place technologically speaking and this also applies to the many cures that disappear because of the same thing. Big companies often buy the patents and stash them away with the rights until they think it'll be profitable to release these discoveries.
