As a long time member of the website, I can offer all of you access to a wealth of information regarding its secrets as well as its members. Post any and all questions you have and I'll do my best to provide you with the answers you want. I should point out that I don't intend to remain a member of GSCentral for much longer.

<Rune[A]>As an admin of GSC, my concern is about other people stealing code and crediting themselves, as Dlong said Lazy Bastard was doing.
<Rune[A]> In one of the posts at GSC, Dlong said he caught Lazy Bastard re-crediting himself (or other GSHIers) with previously hacked codes.
<Rune[A]> I didn't catch him. I tried to talk to Dlong about it but he's been away for almost 2 hours now.

<Rune[A]> Not sure why you like 'em, although before I knew that Lazy Bastard was re-crediting code creators with his name, I thought he was incredibly dense or naive.

This information should be kept in here. Apparently Rune was suspecting LB of being a code thief. He asked me for access to my account to check some things, which I allowed him to do. After he was done, I changed my password and examined the boards to make sure he didn't do anything else. The password I had set for my account was something I don't use very often as a password, and my new one is much stronger. He did not get access to the speakeasy. I should also note that Rune did not find what he was looking for. Just some information I thought you'd all like to know.

I believe he was more interested in using your account to see what codes were posted at GSHI. We've started posting code updates only on the forums, which, for a few days, stopped Rune from copying them to GSC's database. I'm sure this sounds a little malicious to you, as a member of GSC, but if you like, watch our code updates, then check out Rune's latest list of updated games...his always occurs a little after ours, and includes the same games. Though, I'm sure he occasionally copies from other sites as well, and we can't prove anything completely without being able to see his code database, heh.

Incidentally, we caught Rune using bowser's account, and banned it. Now that we know what you've shared, I suppose he must've borrowed the account from the real bowser, as the IP was not Rune's when he registered. Interesting.

Well then I am sorry for possibly allowing him the opportunity he may actually have been after. I will monitor the updates to see what happens. And now you can monitor his updates for codes that have since only been posted on the forum for the absolute proof you may want as far as his true intentions in borrowing my account. Is registration open? I don't understand, if what you said is not his true intention, why he didn't just create an account for himself.

Registration is, for the time being, moderated. He'd have to use a proxy, in which case we'd be suspicious, and look into him a bit more than other users. I'd imagine he shouldn't have too hard a time figuring out how to use a proxy, but I guess I should consider who we're discussing, heh. In the end, the only thing we're doing is slowing him down. You can't fully stop someone from copying codes, without taking them offline.

Like he does. I have to admit that the new sercurity updates sound interesting. ModMan, have you any idea on the new sercurity on gsc? Not how it works but on how one can get access to the codes after the codes are up? As in a type of points system or you need to request them from a mod?

Rune is keeping that information under wraps from the members as well as, I believe, the other administrators. I'll know all I need to know when it goes online.

I thought so too. I'm not sure if you're familiar with socratic philosophy, but Rune would be the type of person that Socrates usually encountered while on his quest.

I guess I'll point out that Socrates thought he was wise because he knew nothing, and he knew that he knew nothing. It was that knowledge that helped him become famous as a greek philosopher. He went out and tried all the people that were said to be wise. They ended up being wise in their respective trades, but they didn't know jack shit about anything else. And Socrates called them on it.

From what I've seen today, GSC is pretty much falling apart. I don't think I'll mind wholeheartedly supporting whatever Para does, as long as he and his subordinates aren't hostile toward myself and GSHI.
