  • I'm getting a promotion at work

So, I have two jobs. I work at Innovative Computers in Belleville, Michigan, and Burger King in New Boston, Michigan. At Innovative Computers, there aren't too many positions/people above me: I already have full adminship to everything, and I'm paid fairly decent for just having turned 18. However, I've been striving for a management position at Burger King for the last 2 years I've worked there, and it's finally happening. I start manager training tomorrow. Apparently, it's a good idea to be available at 11:00 pm to help fix the store manager's computer LoLz.

And it was a bitch of a problem too. They have SBC dsl, and SBC fucked up server side. I had to deal with them on the phone for about 2 hours before they finally figured out that I knew what the hell I was talking about. First, my store manager had talked to them already, and they had her fill in some bullshit user name in the modem for connecting to the network. It definitely wasn't standard procedure, because after I let them, rather disagreeably, walk me through all of their standard troubleshooting, they were about to transfer me to someone else in upper management when I was like "Hey, how about giving me a real log in name so this modem can actually use the account their paying for?" The tech was like OMG How did I miss that? So then they gave me the correct login information, and come to find out, the account on their side was completely fucked. They had to delete and completely recreate it before I could get the thing to connect. Finally it did. Then, come to my dismay, apparently SBC uses these damn 2wire modem/router things. Well, it was being a bitch when I tried to hook up her other router, which she insisted be hooked up. So, whatever. I had to completely reconfigure everything. I basically had to turn her router into nothing more than a wireless gateway by disabling DHCP on the router and statically setting it's ip address for the WAN to something on the same subnet as the 2wire. Then it started bitching at me because apparently you can't have the LAN ip and the WAN ip on the same subnet, so now if anyone wants to access the router configuration, they're going to HAVE to talk to me because the fucker is on it's own separate subnet and the only way to access it is to statically set your computer's ip to an address on that same subnet. Without me, you won't be able to figure out which subnet exactly that is. But at least she's able to access her internet and use the router as a wireless gateway. Oh and apparently you can't have the network cable plugged in from the 2wire to the actual wan port on the router in that situation. Everything has to be done through the lan ports. So after all of that trouble, she's decided she's firing another manager and promoting me; and the training begins tomorrow.
Judge a man by his questions and not his answers.
