  • Every citizen's browser history must be collected and saved

Britain has passed the 'most extreme surveillance law ever passed in a democracy'

The law forces UK internet providers to store browsing histories - including domains visited - for one year, in case of police investigations.

Trump winning might have something to do with this.

Nah, it's just another step for the inevitable police state Britain will become. It's scary how George Orwell's 1984 becomes more and more a reality.

I could live with this, but there's always that 1 problem. Who's collecting the info, and how much can I rely on them to not get hacked so everything gets leaked? Realistically I can't think of anything I go to that's illegal or shady, but I can imagine there'd be those people doing lots of things that are and if somebody leaked things there'd be some possible reputation damage control going on for many.

If I could rely on those who gather this data to do so without just randomly using it to harass people and at the same time not have to worry about hackers, this wouldn't change my life much.
