There are obvious differences and problems between GSCentral.org and theGSHI, however they aren't mine. I'm tired of getting involved with the drama and being pulled into battles that have nothing to do with me. As I look through this board, I kind of like the community. Perhaps I'll stay as a permanent member.

For the first time, Rune directly requested his codes be removed from GSHI, so I told him they would be. It was funny when this started: Rune added ugetab's codes without permission or credit, then ugetab bitched at Rune, so he added proper credit, then ugetab requested his codes be removed from GSC, and Rune basically told him to piss off. So ugetab, hiro, and perhaps a few other people (I'm not sure) added some of Rune's codes, WITH proper credit, and Rune went crazy about it. I didn't stop that, as I understood their sentiment, and it was a perfect opportunity to make the point that Rune has double standards, and is unscrupulous.

However, the point has been made, and GSHI doesn't host codes from anyone who doesn't want them hosted. We've always been fine with removing a hacker's codes by request (it's happened twice before, when two people threw fits because we didn't update quickly enough, heh), and that policy won't change.

As hiro spent a lot of time adding Rune's codes to piss him off, he decided if Rune's codes were removed, he wanted his removed as well. I asked him to reconsider, and he wouldn't. He added that he didn't want to be admin if I was going to remove Rune's codes. And that was that. Here's a log:

Wow, I'd make a joke but it just wouldn't seem right. You sure he wasn't a spy or something? One thing I don't get about his wish, if you did steal codes from Rune and continued to steal them, wouldn't that make gshi just as petty as .org?

Exactly. He didn't understand that we're not trying to compete with .org, and having someone's codes up against his/her wishes isn't cool.

One thing that I'd like to know: If you were to delete the codes of a user and another user hacked the same codes, would they be posted?

Ideally, no. Theoretically, if enough time passed and they were forgotten, it could happen. Someone could also come here, as OLungfish did, and post codes hacked by someone we don't know. And most SNES/NES/etc codes are very simple (Infinite Lives, etc), and have probably been hacked many times by many different people. In any case, we try our best to stop code theft.

Whoa, I said like the same thing to Lazy_Bastard.
I don't know who robbed who since it's all he said, he said (lol). Sure it sucks, a lot, but an individual's thefts don't reflect an entire community.
