A hacking group has claimed responsibility for taking down Pokemon Go servers.
The cyber collective, known as PoodleCorp, said on Twitter it was behind the action, however this has not been verified.
It also retweeted a post suggesting there could be more
According to the Independent, the group used a DDOS attack, which floods the server with so many requests it cannot cope.
The cyber collective has also targeted high profile YouTubers in the past.
Thousands of people took to Twitter this afternoon to complain about the game freezing and refusing to log in.
Initially it was thought demand was too high, causing a crash similar to one which occurred when the game first launched.

I'm really pissed off that Pokémon Go is down because a group of killjoys decided it would be fun to hack the servers and take them offline.
