Woman dies after kissing her boyfriend

MONTREAL - A Quebec, Canada woman died after kissing her boyfriend who had just eaten a peanut butter sandwich, CTV News reports.

Myriam Ducre-Lemay, 20, had not told her boyfriend that she was allergic and quickly had trouble breathing. Her asthma inhaler did not help and she was also not carrying an EpiPen.

Ducre-Lemay's boyfriend called 911, but she passed away at the hospital due to lack of oxygen to her brain.

The incident happened back in 2012, but her mother is now opening up about the incident.

She wants young people to understand the importance of carrying EpiPens and to tell others about their allergens.

“(This) is why you have to carry your EpiPen, even though you don’t want to and even though it’s not cool,” Dr. Christine McCusker at the Montreal Children’s Hospital told CTV.
