EDIT: I may have overreacted just a tad: while the update is indeed for balancing purposes (to fix the "broken" Bayonetta--she was essentially the Sm4sh equivalent of Brawl's Metaknight), it seems to have no other purpose. But, I'm still kind of wary about applying it, for fear of my current list of cheats not working.
And, on a side note, the concept of "breaking" the GSP system is still intact--if you get a ridiculously huge score in any of the solo events, your GSP will be replaced by "0" instead of the 4.6 million+ for a true maxed-out score. Basically, if you go way beyond what Nintendo deems is possible within the framework of the game, you'll get a 0 slapped on your result.
Oh, well--not that it matters for me. I would consider such "0"s as a badge of honor. I've actually BROKEN the GSP with two characters so far--Pikachu (Classic Mode) and Ganondorf (Home Run Contest).
