  • Windows update can kill your computer

Microsoft Windows update KB3133977 for Windows 7 x64 systems can kill your computer - if you use an ASUS based motherboard.

This update was labeled "optional" by Microsoft, until last month when for no adequately explained reason, they changed it to "recommended".

    The problem?

This update will destroy ASUS based motherboards.

There are people stating that Microsoft is doing this intentionally to force users to use Windows 10.
Either way, this is fucking atrocious. Microsoft have offered no apologies or anything useful for the people that have lost their PC's due to their bullshit.
I am very sorry to the people who have had their computers destroyed by this.
    I'm retired from code hacking.
    I do not take requests!

Microsoft has never been above causing damage that they then offer to repair, but actually stooping to sabotaging users' computers with updates specifically tailored to kill certain types of computer motherboards, just because they won't update to Microsoft's latest steaming pile of glitch-infested shit? Wow...that's definitely a new "unstandard" of low, even for Big M.

Makes me REALLY want to buy an XBox 360 now...*puts on scuba gear to prevent drowning in own sarcasm*

Microsoft is pure evil, they forced Windows 8.1 users like myself to upgrade to 10, even if we didn't want to. One night I fell asleep with keyboard on lap for about 30 minutes, well I awoke to see my PC updating, thought to myself, ah well another update. Well to my shock I saw the upgrade to 10 screen and thought I had did something wrong, so I asked some fellas in another IRC chat room about it. They said it was nothing I had done, that the change was forced. Needless to say I wasn't thrilled as I had heard mixed reviews on Win 10. It's not been a problem, but I don't like it nearly as much as 8.1.

I love windows 10 myself. I didn't like 8 or 8.1 very much. I can see wanting to stick with Windows 7 tho. There is a great app for Windows 8 and 10 called classic shell. It gives you a start menu like windows 7 if you tweak it enough and you can also customize the start button to look like windows 7 too.
