  • Which Play Station 1 Gamehshark Should I get?

My Playstation 1 arrived today and I was wondering what version of Gameshark I should get for it.
I have the original Playstation with all of the ports in the back.

I have read that there are 3 versions: the original, the Gameshark Pro and the Gameshark CDX.
I want to know which one is the best option for me as a code hacker and code tester.

    Any help is appreciated.

    Simple answer
get Gameshark Pro 3.2, you can hack your own codes in realtime.

I purchased the Gameshark Pro 3.2.
My Gameshark Pro came. Should it have come with anything else?
I just got the little cartridge thing. I don't know what cord I need to use the back port of the Gameshark Pro.

All you need is the cartridge to cheat and hack codes.

The port on the back lets you hook the GS Pro up to a PC so you can search the whole address range at once. But the port is proibably only on old computers and you'd need some old software too. You'll just have to search a small range of addresses at a time.

Is there a disc I can use for testing out my cheats, or can I use some software for that as well?

In the video that, dlevere linked the dude in it said that he saw some people using a Parallel to USB cable.
I can only hope that Windows 8.1 can run that software.

I never had any luck getting my GS Pro for PS to work with a Parallel to USB cable. It may just be that you need to find one that allows a low enough level interface, though. My cable was fairly cheap, and its drivers may have only been meant to deal with communications for specific printers.
