  • Finally...The Xirt has come back...in QUAD-CORE!

That's right, folks. Be afraid. Be VERY afraid.

I am now the proud owner of THE most powerful cyber-beast I have ever laid eyes upon:

An Acer V5 with an AMD A10 QUAD-core processor, which clocks in at 2.5 GHz per core (with a max 3.5 GHz overclock speed), 8 GB of DDR3 RAM, and a Radeon graphics chip with 512 MB of video memory. Oh, and a 1000-GB hard drive.

All to the tune of a mere 225 dollars.

I aim to take this beast for quite the ride--I'm going to eventually download WWE 2K15--again--and this time I very well could be able to actually PLAY it.

After all--WWE 2K15 says the minimum requirements are: 2.4 GHz DUAL-core processor, at least 4 GB RAM, 256 MB of video memory (I think), and DirectX 11 compatibility.

I believe this new monster meets those expectations by far.

Holy cow...my machine may be Brock Lesnar, but yours...HULK SMASH! ROFL

      Awesome specs, dude.

Looks like we both have miniature supercomputers by '80s standards.

      Video games be like...

Aww cra--*stampeded by rampaging 80s supercomputers in the form of laptops*

I think your "supercomputer" cost just a LITTLE more than mine did.

      Major dolla cred, bruh.

Mine cost a 100 dollars. I have since added more ram and a better GPU.

You have the benefit of a newer CPU and faster ram.

My suggestion is to ditch the AMD GPU and upgrade to an Nvidia Graphics card.

Here is why. AMD cant seem to get their act shorted out. Even the top of the line AMD graphics card can barely match Nvidia's 4th tier GPU. If you are running Linux, you might as well give up as OpenGL support is totally useless. So much so that AMD has given up support of their GPU driver in linux and given it to the opensource community to try and fix it. It is sad when Intel's Graphic chips out perform a dedicated graphics card in Linux.

So in the end i would recommend migrating to an Nvidia graphic card with a little more videoram.

As for Mini... This computer i am on would be equatable to a dedicated workstation. It is a 6U sized server that i tossed a graphics card into and play games on

Oh also forgot to mention that i have a quadcore Mini computer the size of half a credit card :P

Holy crap! That is beyond words...

To make a computer even more powerful than mine, but even smaller than my friggin' TOUCHPAD?! That is some serious MEGA-nerd cred right there, bub.

Plus a double whammy for being able to do that for under 100 bucks...wow.
