  • To all of you who use the web IRC...

You cannot leave and expect people to be able to reply. If you close out of the page, the connection is lost. People on IRC are not superheros. We have lives. We sleep. We eat. Some may even work. You cannot come on for a minute and expect a reply within that minute.

If you want to stay on longer, you can open the webchat in a new tab, or use this webchat link:

    https://webchat.esper.net/?nick=&cha...amehacking.org

Or you can get a client like one of these:

    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Compar...y_Chat_clients

    Mobile: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Compar...y_Chat_clients

    Server: irc.esper.net
    Channel: #gamehacking.org

    Personally, I'd recommend getting Hexchat ( https://hexchat.github.io/ ).

This way, you can stay on for longer periods of time and actually get the replies you have been waiting for. You can also help the channel grow by sticking around.

That might have been me. I apologize for being impatient. Also, I managed to find a rather busy chatroom on another site where I managed to get the info needed to make the final push to getting my current OS up and running. That's how I'm typing this right now.

I didn't want to point fingers since it really isn't just one person. It has been happening for quite a while now. Seems as though it's an epidemic of all web IRC rooms that are embedded somewhere. (I had one on another forum that suffered from the same issue, people just came and left before you could utter a response.) And the only way it can become busy is if it grows. The only way it can grow is if people stick around.

True that. But, when I get aggravated about something, good ol' Impatience decides to tag along for the ride, much to the detriment of myself and others "around" me.

Anyway, I ended up getting banned from the #Puppylinux chat room by a rather ill-tempered admin named Puppy-Bot. I was just trying to figure out how to get Puppy Linux to run on my laptop. Turns out my laptop is, oddly enough, "Puppy-incompatible". Even more "oddly", is the name of the OS which actually works on my laptop: Quirky Werewolf 7.4 64-bit. Funny how the world works, eh?
