  • Have You Ever Tried To Hack Codes Drunk?

I got drunk on Thanksgiving, and after everyone left I tried hacking GBA codes and I failed miserably at it.
I lost addresses and what values I had constantly and couldn't remember what I was doing.

I would start a code search, then I would start cutting bushes down for Rupees then I would forget I started a code search, then I would forget what code I was trying to hack. When I did find an address I wanted, I would incorrectly type it in the memory viewer and when I typed it in correctly, I would lose my place when trying to look around for other interesting values and addresses.
Looking at the memory viewer gave me a headache because of all of the numbers and addresses, I felt totally overwhelmed by it.

I decided to shut off my computer and go to sleep, because it was too difficult to hack codes and I started feeling sick.

This experience made me curious to know if any of you had done this before. What were your experiences trying to hack codes drunk?
I'm probably not going to attempt it again, just because of how overwhelming and confusing it felt.
    I'm retired from code hacking.
    I do not take requests!

I hacked a moon jump code for Hexen and forgot to write it down, but I can't remember if I was drunk or not, it was so long ago.

Over 95% of my PS3 codes I found while hammered as hell, sometimes I was even too far gone to even speak or crawl. It's still very effortless for me though, it's just not passing out and making sure then notes I type aren't leaving out details so I don't have 50 addresses pasted and no idea of why I pasted any of them before I do pass out if I do.

Try finding codes when you've had a joint, now that is beyond hopeless. Can't focus on 1 simple thought for even 2 seconds. The process for finding ammo is so simple. Pause game, turn slightly left to face computer, forget why I turned to face the computer, 10 minutes later wonder what that music is and realize I have a game on, pick up controller, unpause game, immediately remember I was going to get ammo, pause game, turn to face computer, again forget in that fraction of a second it took me to turn to face my computer why I even turned to face it, and eventually an hour's gone by and I haven't done a single thing in the game paused the entire time nor have I even touched the mouse or keyboard. I slowly become functional and remember just long enough to click search when I turn, and while that is searching I forget I was even searching and start playing the game, then remember I was searching but I've fired my gun and now I've screwed up the search so I stop it, input the new value, try again, repeat a few times. After about 2 hours I'm back to normal and functioning at light speed again, I just look back and feel embarrassed at how much time I wasted getting nothing done in life and the electricity I've wasted, and my roommate just keeps looking at me saying "You know this never works right?"

Definitely been wasted a few times while making codes. I can't remember specifically what I did of hand but I'm pretty sure most of my efforts while smashed failed spectacularly. Definitely going to happen again. LOL.

Try SPRITING for a SNES game with little or no sleep. I say it fits in the same general category as "drunken/stoned code hacking", because lack of sleep can induce a state very similar to being drunk or stoned.

There's been times I spent so long constantly spriting that I can't get the images out of my head, as well as the music for the game I intend to sprite for.

While robots dream of electric sheep, spriters like me dream of dancing PIXELS...yikes.

I've hacked codes without sleep plenty of times.
I've also hacked codes high as well. I can't do anything high, everything just makes me laugh.

All of the codes I just made for Link's Awakening DX were hacked on literally no sleep.
I'm not a good artist so I can't sprite for beans. Maybe I should try doing that drunk, lol.

Amen to that, 47iscool. On average, a single 12-ounce can of beer, at 6 percent alcohol content, will destroy 1000 brain cells. A single cigarette, on average, subtracts 4 minutes from your life.

Those brain cells and minutes might be needed to hack more codes...

                EDIT: my 400th post! w00t!

I made a few failed attempts at creating codes while stoned. Its all fun until can't do maths for shits and giggles. I usually do this stuff when other people are over because its way more fun like did we Sunday night.

                    Nothing wrong with that.

                    On topic:
Hacking while drinking is great if you have a group of hackers. The majority of codes in this video were made while drinking:
