  • Tyson recalls 52,000 pounds of cooked chicken wings

Nov. 17, 2015 - More than 52,000 pounds of chicken wings are being recalled by Tyson Foods Inc.

The recall was triggered by consumer complaints about the chicken wings being "off-odor" as well as mild illness after eating the wings, according to the U.S. Food Safety and Inspection Service.

The recall is for 28-oz. bags of "Tyson Any'tizers Fully Cooked Hot Wings Chicken Wing Sections Coated with a Flavorful Hot, Tangy Sauce" with use by/sell by dates of October 24, 2016 and October 25, 2016, packaging dates 2975PBF0508-23/2985PBF0500-01 and case codes 2975PBF0508-23/2985PBF0500-01.

The products were shipped to stores nationwide. Consumers who bought the chicken wings should throw them away or return them to the place of purchase.

For more information, consumers can call Tyson at 866-328-3156.

I love buffalo wings. Fortunately I don't have any of those kind.

I love avoiding those big name brands. Go generic\not big brand name. People laugh at me when I say that. The bigger a brand gets, the more scrutiny upon them there is to cut costs and comply with whatever standards leading to risky crap. They use those scarier sounding ingredients that get bad reputations for causing bad things but defend it anyway because it's cheaper for them in the long run.

I used to like Jack Link's beef jerky a lot more. 15 years ago eating it, it was tender, juicy, delicious. These days at times you'd think they accidentally dyed and tenderized a car tire to look like beef jerky. Dry, hard as hell to chew, and nowhere near as good as it used to taste. I go get whatever big brand name loaf of bread, it's like a dry and porous bundle of crumbs formed into the shape of bread. Then I go to a bakery and get it, it's like a soft doughy chewy and better tasting bread I like much more even though the expiration date is a lot sooner.

Same applies to all kinds of things to me. It's not all of them, but I favor non big brand stuff more these days.

Tyson has a not so good record of things that go on with a lot of their stuff. I like the chicken strips but they worry me enough that years go in between times I eat anything of theirs.
