I believe some guy he called "Dave" had his database, and Dave vanished from the internet, taking GSCentral's codes with him. I dunno the whole skinny, but that's what I recall from when the codes first went offline.

Hell no! GoodCBC was never envisioned to contain many custom cbc files, though I did add a few, they were mostly for games CMX hacked that preceded the era of codebreakers cbc functionality. It would take an enormous amount of effort to gather all of the codes hacked by Skiller and others into text files, merged into existing lists, checked for duplicate codes and compiled into cbc's to be used on the server that my patched elves use for internal updating. It would seem GoodCBC is for all intents and purposes dead. If I'm understanding current events correctly, some 600+ cbc files have been pushed to the wayside by community generated cbc's and codebreaker's arbitrary limit of listing around 1200 files. Perhaps a server dedicated to serving the GoodCBC set could be setup and new elves done up, but I'm currently in no position to do anything about that.Originally posted by bungholio View PostI've still been doing PS3 codes on CMP. As far as I can tell, aren't all of the PS2 codes from there on here in that codebreaker list format thing that bfoos was doing, or at least most of them?
Now to get on topic... Good riddance to gscentral.Missing LiquidManZero since 1685.

Given the ludicrous size limits on CBC files, it'd be better to waste time hacking a version of the CB to download full code list replacements. If you were inclined to waste time on something like that. As always, anybody who could run the customized CB software could just make their own code lists with a little know-how and copy them manually.

Now that is an interesting idea that I will almost certainly never ever get around to doing. I think a better way would be an PC/*NIX app that could compile the CHEATS file and users could simply use uLE to transfer it over to MC. Half the work is already done by misfires cb2cheats as it can easily convert CHEATS files to plain text.Last edited by bfoos; 11-15-2015, 11:11:47 PM.Missing LiquidManZero since 1685.

You might have been out of town when it happened, but one or the other of those utilities can compile a cheat save file now for v7+ from a text file. I don't think there's a stupid security signature in it, so it should work for everybody who can get a file on a memory card.
I was thinking something along the lines of a menu where you can pick the games you want, possibly down to the code, and have the server generate a replacement code list that the CB uses to overlay the one it has. Hypothetically. The only way I'd implement something like that is if CMX released the CB source code, and then I'd probably just go the route of lifting the dumb restrictions on CBC files as much as possible.

Well, I was mostly absent from the internet for the past 2 and half years. And for at least the 2 years prior to that I was well off the deep end of addiction. There's a lot of things from the last few years I was around up until I disappeared that have simply gone from my mind. I believe I did most of the GoodCBC project high as fuck and frankly can't even remember what cb2cheats or cb2util or whatever can do. I don't really have any wants or desires for the project that LMZ and I started other than maybe a server to serve the GoodCBC set.Last edited by bfoos; 11-15-2015, 11:31:57 PM.Missing LiquidManZero since 1685.

Unfortunately, any backup newer than 2012-2013 is useless if you want to see anything from code database. Also, I've tried to view some of NES codes but I can load only games list, but NOT pages with codes themselves because they have no archived copy... On Sega Genesis section, most of GameGenie pages are fine, but you absolutely cannot view notes becasue popup window for codes's note's content doesn't work.. Shame! Only if there is a way to view codes for NES from GSCentral because there're some that are not present on GameHacking's db! I could can do add the missing codes in our database, this could be nice... But without displayed least codes themselves somehow wihout being archived at all I'm NO-GO!Originally posted by AsPika2219 View PostTo everyone!
