  • Welcome to the forums, Dlong!

It appears you've decided to lurk in the shadows rather than register an account. That's OK, we see you anyway

Feel free to engage in conversation, tout GSC as something that it's not, or even do the unexpected, and be civil. Whether it's in a grown-up conversation, a battle of logic, or even an all-out flame, we're glad to have you here.

    *cracks open a beer*

    This one's for you, Dlong.

    No one can resist GSHI.

I can't see why it's wrong to go between the two sites.

I don't think it's wrong at all. However, Dlong (a GSC admin, I believe) just started a pissing contest over at Wikipedia, to have all references to GSHI removed, as GSHI is "obviously a ripoff of other sites". Then he showed up here, but as a "Guest" (we simply picked up his IP). Most likely, he is here on behalf of Rune and Co, looking for codes to take without permission. I hate to accuse with no direct evidence, but this has become such a pattern that it would be ridiculous to assume otherwise.

I visit 2 sites also. This and CMP. But I think it's funny in this case cause far as I know DLong claims to hate the site which he visits. I guess it's a love/hate relationship.

Heh. Yeah, GSHI and pretty much anyone else get along pretty well. GSC is pretty much the only one who has a problem with us.

I find it pretty funny that you complain about us supposedly stealing codes, when you have quite a few of mine up here. And of course there was that whole thing at gscentral.com with iamstillhiro submitting all of Viper's codes under his name. Not sure if those are still up of not. I don't care enough to check. It doesn't really matter, since the fact that it happened proves my point.

Anyway, I'm not here to argue. I guess you're right to say I can't resist. I find this site quite hilarious.

Thanks for registering; that's honorable of you. Also, thanks for legible typing, irreplete with grammatical and spelling errors. That was relatively unexpected.

I'm not really sure when your codes ended up on the site, but from what I recall, someone at GSHI added them when GSC began to add codes against the will of GSHI hackers, particularly those of ugetab. And at least we never added codes without credit. If you'd like your codes to be removed from GSHI, please request so, and they will be.

To be honest, I never heard anything about hiro submitting Viper's codes at GSC.com, but I doubt the accusation has any credence. If anyone knows anything about this, feel free to fill us in.

Heh, I'm glad you enjoy the site, Dlong.

Welcome Dlong. From what i've read from GSC, you're a pretty good hacker a decent person.

He does seem like an all right guy. He's welcome here as long as he likes, barring something ridiculous.

Is it possible to check at runes site? I assumed his code database is still down. I do remember Viper somehow got many of his codes taken off of gsc somehow tho. Alot of prety common codes like infinite energy and stuff. I wound up rehacking some. You know hacking gamegear is pretty easy right? Just use Meka, which is what I mostly use, or use Kega Fusion.

Edit: I should also mention that Rune can't seem to keep his hands off GSHI staff codes either. I doubt I could see Rune removing Darkserges, mine, King Edgar, Ugetab's stuff. The most he would do is remove our name from the credits.

I've made several unique Game Genie codes that definately weren't available prior to my efforts. It doesn't seem like rune to allow such resources to be left out of his site, even with explicit warnings on the code page stating that the codes shouldn't be added to their site.

Since there's no way to prove whether or not he's decided to remove the codes I made, I'll just have to wait for him to hurry up and get his database back online to prove it.

Also: The point hiro is trying to make about rehacking the codes is that finding the codes was an easy task in the first place, and someone familiar with the cheat finder, who has access to the game, could easily find the ram cheats again themselves.

                        Edit:
I've given rune the option of requesting me to make a code for SNES, NES, Gameboy, and potentially Genesis, to prove that I have the capacity to make code myself. He seems to claim that I steal codes, but has yet to make a request that would test my competence. If the codes are simple, then anyone could make them with a little effort. If the codes are complex, then why isn't anyone else stepping up on these forums to claim the coding effort he thinks I didn't make?

Heheh. I really, honestly wasn't trying to be derogatory with this thread, but instead wanted Dlong to know that he didn't have to loom around, and was perfectly welcome to post here, except that maybe Rune would get mad at him for it.

I should note that he took that invitation, and used it to launch a spam attack, alongside lemmayoshi. It's apparent, among other things, by the fact that we banned the IP of one of the spammers, and Dlong complained that he was banned for no reason.

However, as I've been appraised of GSC's staff situation, I won't chalk this up as GSC's doing, but instead as the work of a few individuals acting on behalf of GSC, perhaps without it's permission. Though I have yet to hear Rune, Viper, or Parasyte condemn the attack, heh.
