Kintaro got his arse kicked, well I'm suing Midway.
I tend to think that censorship is one of the worst things that is used. I do agree things like Murder, rape and so forth shouldn't be shown in the middle of the day. In my opinion censorship has drawn people towards things such as racism, for example a child wouldn't see any difference between a black man, white man and an asian man, but it's becasue that censorship is focused of discrimination that children are raised with the idea that people are different, when if fact we aren't.

Yeah, discrimination is fed by the media, not cured by it. Though I'm sure they do good as well.

I think of it this way: we ARE different, but who the hell cares?

Physically speaking, we are different, but not as different as say cats to dogs, or cows to sheep. We have the same basic body and so forth.

Yes. If some of us were sheep, it would be difficult to treat each other equally, I'd imagine.

My point is that there is no difference between asians, blacks, whites and so forth. It's the media that makes the differences, how often do you see a small child say: Mommy, Mommy that man is different, now the mother would more than likely say: yes, but it is normal for people to be different.
If the media answered that child's question, it would be: See, all people are different, all people are the same, that's what the media does, makes an ass of itself.

The media generally has no problem at all going out of it's way to contradict itself.

Ok, I have no idea what you mean. Care to explain in more detail?
Do you mean that the media contradicts itself with ease?

Pretty much, though it seems like occasionally they go out of their way to be contradicting (at least when it's useful for confusing, scaring, or otherwise screwing with people).

Thanks, but still, it seems like the media doesn't realise it contradicts itself.
I can understand the your medium is very different to my medium but most of the time, the media tends to "fall for traps" and gives free advertisment for various things.
My favourite was with the GTA games, they tried doing a good job and getting it banned but made an ass of themselves.

Heh, that did buy RockStar a lot of publicity. Incidentally, where are you, CF?

Dublin, Ireland. I have no idea about the fox network or anything to do with America. How bad is fox? Is just violence and porn 24/7 or is that just people going overboard with the description?

Heh, it's not that bad. I'm all for the stuff they air on Fox, as long as it's in the name of comedy, and not totally stupid; it just makes all the old fashioned people blush.

Sometimes the media goes too far trying to accomidate everybody. Our local major newspaper "The Fargo Forum" had it's editor claiming that although when their own stories will not use the word terrorist and they will use the muslim extremist instead they won't alter the AP stories. About one day later they found that they did alter a AP distributed story to change those words around so there was a bit of a contreversy over that. I don't think newspapers should even bother trying to make terrorist look less crazy by calling them muslim extremists instead. Their job is to blow up and kill as many people as they can. So I'm fine with them being called terrorist.

Terrorist seems less offensive, a muslim extremist seems a bit racist.

Yeah..."Muslim extremist" actually points out their religion. Terrorist is at least generic.
