  • McDonald's Secret Menu

A manager in Scotland confirmed the major news.

    By Chris Fuhrmeister

McDonald's is a fast food giant with an expansive menu that covers burgers, chicken, fish, breakfast, and more. But did you know there's a secret menu, one that offers outlandish combinations of the regular items? It's long been discussed by fans of the chain, and in a recent AMA on Reddit, a McDonald's manager in Scotland acknowledged that it really does exist.

Asked to confirm the validity of the secret menu, and make recommendations on what and what not to order, Reddit user orchidhibiscus explained:

"You can order from the 'Secret Menu'. Just like with any of our sandwiches, you can add, remove or change ingredients by special request. These are called 'grill orders' (i.e. Big Mac no pickle)

The items on the 'secret menu' weren't invented by anyone officially at McDonald's, it's just a random persons guide to burgers you could potentially 'hack' at McDonald's.

Order one and the workers might not know it by name (i.e. Land, Air and Sea burger or the McGangBang) but if you explain what it is, and are willing to pay for all the ingredients, it's just another 'grill order' that we can make up.

DON'T order...the grilled chicken. It's horrible frozen chicken that we defrost and steam and it's a bit gelatinous."

For those not in the know, a "Land, Air, and Sea Burger" is a Big Mac, McChicken, and Filet-O-Fish all slammed together. A "McGangBang" is a McChicken sandwiched inside a double cheeseburger.

McDonald's isn't the only burger chain with a secret menu. In-N-Out and Shake Shack are in on the action in more official capacities, and Wendy's can cobble together underground items, as well.

So this is a "secret" menu? I've been troubleshooting McDonalds software and hardware for nearly a year in the UK, this menu isn't secret. It also depends on which version of their software they have too, the older it is the less likely the menu will have much choices. I'd imagine there's even more to the menu in the US software. It's definitely not secret though, and them saying it can get you anything is a load of crap. Depends on which version of the software the store is using. This kind of news would only be an annoyance to some of the stores, customers might think they can get anything when they really can't.
