3DS Action Replay Codes?

Forgive me if you've already answered this, but how do you even use Action Replay 3DS codes... if there's no Action Replay for the system? Well, there is, but it's for the Nintendo DS.

This isn't affected by the system update for that PKHEX exploit, is it? If it is, I'm kicking myself in the teeth.

Yes you can kick yourself in the teeth like I did, I had an exploitable 2ds and when I did a system format it automatically updated the firmware on me so no way to make or use cheats.
