  • Most Frustrating Game You Have Ever Hacked

This thread is only happening because of Zelda Collectors Edition on the Gamecube. Holy shit good luck hacking anything on this fucking thing. It's slow as hell because of Dolphin and every game crashes constantly.

Found a possible pointer code? No you fucking didn't, because of the multiple games on the disc, finding pointer codes is harder than slaying a unicorn. I have trouble getting asm hacks to work as well, and the only 2 games that even work on Dolphin are: Ocarina of Time, and Majora's Mask because Zelda 1 and 2 have immense graphical glitches.

"I wanna press the start button in Majora's Mask. " *Crash*
"I wanna stand under the light in Ikana Castle. " *Crash*
"I wanna move 10 steps to the left in Ocarin of Time. " *Crash*
"I wanna load up the game. " *Crash*

Ughhh. So damn frustrating, if I could get pointers to work, the I could hack a Super Hookshot code and a Tunic Color Modifier for Majora's Mask.

What is the most frustrating you guys have ever hacked?
    I'm retired from code hacking.
    I do not take requests!

This is why I never got into hacking the GC, I could never get breakpoints working and there is not real built in tools to do ram searches. I wish someone would add real debugging tools to the emulator or use a real GC with the Gecko to hack codes.

NBCraftsman (is that guy still around??) requested a walk through walls code for MGS VR Missions. What should have been a simple request had me give up in frustration.

Part of the issue was that my PS1's I/O port was floppy from years of Gameshark PRO insertions and the Gameshark kept falling out and locking the game up when I'd hit the button. I later soldered a remote switch onto it, but not after hundreds of game lockups due to my poor abused PlayStation.

Let me guess: Are the games run via N64-on-GameCube emulation? I hate games that do that.

When lee4 asks a question it does not mean lee4 will look at your game

I guess for me would be FF8 because the GSPro would glitch the game when you enter the cheat menu. Another pain in the ass game is that NDS game Percy Jackson, that shit has pointers change every time you enter any menu and you had to be lucky to even find something usable but I and Exilirdream and I think one other were able to hack useful codes.

I did. Wads don't work very well on Dolphin and I suck at hacking N64 pointers. Even if I make an asm code for Majora's Mask, it still won't work if I enter a new area. I also can't get Nemu 64 to run Majora's Mask or Ocarina of Time. I assume it's because I'm using Windows 8.

Yeah they are. And Zelda 1 and 2 are running via NES emulation. It's a giant mess of a game to hack, but I want to hack the codes for it.
I'd really love to hack the N64 versions, but I can't deal with the pointers, there are no tools to make finding N64 pointers easier.
And I can't get most games to run on Nemu 64, so I can't use the debugger.

Cube, for the PSP. I couldn't find any codes, because the blasted game would FREEZE every time I tried to perform a basic search! However, codes did eventually get made for this game, but even with cheats, it's still possible to "die" in the game, forcing you to restart the level.

Also, the graphics left me rather underwhelmed (just a cube rolling around a track made of...cubes, with a rather dull two-tone grid in the background). If I wanted graphics that simple, I'd just as soon download Q*Bert for the NES and play it on an emulator.
                  Tempus fugit, ergo, carpe diem.

Time flies, therefore, seize the day.
