As revealed late yesterday, The Witcher 3 torrent has already found itself leaked onto various torrent and file-sharing sites, a week early before its release date. In response to this, CD Projekt RED has come forth offering out a day one patch which will be available for anyone that has downloaded the game, not being restricted to just owners that have brought the title through legitimate means. The patch itself will be a separate download and will be able to update the game to its latest version and will be released for downloading on the original release date for the game.
Also during this time an employee of CD Projekt RED has released a quick statement hoping to reach out to those looking to download the third installment of the Witcher series, asking for their support in buying the game when it does release, even addressing the additional bonuses that will come with a legitimate copy of the game.

So far pirates won’t actually be able to play their current download as the executable file for the game won’t be released until May 18th, though again with the amount of downloads already, this will undoubtedly make a dent for game sales and may ultimately change the developers policy on offering DRM-free on such sites as GOG.com
Though on the bright side for CD Projekt RED, the review embargo has been lifted and the reviews have been plentiful and well received.
Witcher 3 & Day One Patch will be released on May 19th for PC, PlayStation 4 & XBox One.
