I recently made an eboot of Tomb Raider II and as soon as it launches the PSP crashes, I cannot even accesss the POPS screen. The file is perfectly ok as Epsxe and PCSX-r can read it and launch it and the eboot is fine too, otherwise it would show as corrupted.

Use POPSloader. That SHOULD solve your problem. If not, could you tell me what program you're using to build the eboot? I always used Simple Popstation GUI, and you'll want to use the .bin and .cue options--they (usually) build the most stable eboots.Tempus fugit, ergo, carpe diem.

What POPS version are you using? POPS is separate from POPSloader. By POPS I mean the specific "firmware" or "BIOS" you need to run a particular PSX iso (in this case, Tomb Raider II). POPSloader has a long list of POPS versions. I must warn you, however, that some of the earlier ones don't have proper (or ANY, in some cases) sound output. One notable example is Spyro the Dragon (one of the earlier PSX games). You need a VERY early POPS to run it, but you won't get sound, except from headphones.
BTW, what CFW are you running on your machine?Tempus fugit, ergo, carpe diem.

You are correct on that score. The later the version of PSP you have, the fewer versions of POPS cfw that work. It's one small price to pay to be able to play nearly everything (from NES games all the way to, natch, PSP isos).
However, I would suggest getting a slightly older cfw, such as 6.20. That's the one I use, because it's the latest version that still allows you to apply a permanent patch (so no need to have to boot into recovery every time). It's more compatible with POPSloader than 6.60 CFW or LCFW.Tempus fugit, ergo, carpe diem.
