  • Audiophile Micro SD Card

    By Rob Beschizza

If you've been telling yourself that Sony's $1,200 Walkman is actually a highly-polished, premium product — say, the audio equivalent of a professional DSLR camera — know that it is also making a $155 SD card to use with it for "premium sound."

Consider yourself informed what sort of person Sony thinks you are, if you are thinking of buying that Walkman.

I wonder what a audiophile SD card has to offer over a standard sd card anyway. Interesting idea.

I'd wager high carat gold in the connectors and insulation between components that they paint as prone to interference that doesn't corrupt data transfer, but somehow introduces "noise" that can be heard during playback. It's all snake-oil anyway. The companies that make those $8,000 ethernet cables for audiophiles (6' cables no less) could spray paint copper gold, and the suckers would probably just take the claims at face value.

I just bought a 64GB SD card for less than $60 and an official Sandisk too, I don't see why this costs almost 3 times as much for the same shit and the speed is likely the same as well.

          I agree with, Helder.
Sony thinks I'm retarded. And I'm not...
