  • Sega Mega Drive/Genesis: Collected Works Now Available

    By Cauterize

Late last year the classic gaming book publisher Read-Only Memory launched a Kickstarter to help fund a historic look at Sega’s 16-bit days. The Sega Mega Drive/Genesis: Collected Works was a huge hit on the crowd-funding platform, raising well over triple their initial target. Fast forward to today and this celebration of the Mega Drive is finally here.

Containing 28 interviews with well respected Mega Drive heroes such as Hayao Nakayama and Tom Kalinske, along with forewords from David Perry, this perfect addition to any games room is without a doubt something any 16-bit fan cannot be without. Throughout the book are countless visuals, artwork prints and many more memories captured in print, all showcasing how incredible it was to grow up alongside Sega’s console.

If for whatever reason you missed this project the first time round, copies of the Sega Mega Drive/Genesis: Collected Works are now being made available on Read-Only Memory’s official website. The standard version of the book can be had for £35,(35 British Pound Sterling equals $54.84 US Dollars) while the collectors among us can pre-order a limited edition version (of 100) for a more hefty £250 price tag. (250 British Pound Sterling equals $391.65 US Dollars)

Though I was raised on Nintendo, that is truly something that would be lovely to have for any gameroom. Too bad I don't have the scratch.
