  • Another cheat site bites the dust...

First Game genie creators club went down a few months ago, now it looks like antigscentral is gone.

    http://www.kanenite-nation.com/vb3/index.php?codes=

It didn't seem like it really got off the ground, but you know. It wasn't too bad. I'm curious how it's forum was. You needed to register to view it so I never did.

I suspect this will happen a lot more as things go on. Especially with it looking like the former cheat device companies realized they can get away with only saved game converters. I doubt there will be any cheat devices for the next gen systems. The the PSP and DS are already shown to be screwed, as datel has already put out their fake cheat devices for those two devices.

Yea...sad but true, I believe just a sign of the times, or otherwise the destiny of the world....

As is, sad to know and admit, but older cheat devices are dying, those Game Genie's are not meant to last forever, and being around and working, 'anything' eletronic wise sense 1991 at least is showing some good age. Other then that simply, as daminmancejin said and is sadly in the middle of right now seeking a 'working' Genesis Game Genie.... just seems to be a sign of time moving on.

Other then all that above of not all but someday sad enough but all our cheat devices will die---- with that always in the future and it getting hard to impossible to replace this mess anymore at all, there really is sadly no reason for 'retro' code sites to remain around all that much, just not too popular anymore sadly.....maybe good for say two 80 year olds who have the only working Game Genie's in the year 2040...but othewise, when looking at reality of the world now, everything after a good life, and some not so good life has to die and makes way for the others.

Now otherwise, heck... sad again but seems the cheat device thing is 'dead' otherwise, datel making those fake cheat devices, as LMZ said, pelican not even trying anymore, and all says and claim no cheating on the next gen systems when the current gen systems have enough problems already, hell no one even made a XBox cheat device, and that bullet proof slab of steel is now about as worthless as well, yeah a slab of steel.

So as far as cheating devices and games in general, it does not look good, if no one jumps on the PS2 hacking, that is and shall be their last chance I think, and time is ticking after awhile, hell the PS2 will be as rare as the PSX system these days as well, within a year PS2 sadly will vanish specialy as soon as PS3 comes out, but no cheating on that ehhh games seem to will go down for a good while.

Sad but again what I think, I love games and all, but now really, gahhhh I do not have all the free time in the world to get a Final Fantasy 37 and walk around and get my ass handed too me as I try to level up, yeah this was fun in the good OLD days on SNES with FF3, but these days as we all grow older, hey there is alot more life out there to live other then that old level up mess----mainly a reason I tend to hate RPG type games these days. (Screw 'working for it, I already ahve at my careers, so working for it a level or whatever is dead and now they need to just worry about the money as they do. Hell as is, heck if I can or could much finish many games these days as I wanted to. I bought Suikoden 4 whole damn last eyar when it came out and not even 'finished' the mess yet.... real life vs video games, real life always wins, and that stake in video games hearts, sorry, video games and no cheat devices, seems the 'fad' may indeed die soon other then for the children....well maybe would be sad, but that seems the way it is all going.)

I've still got my Genesis ,SNES, and NES Game Genies, all still working, as long as these survive there will always be a need for codes.

hehe neat, I am with you, all mine still works, at least for 'now'. Only mess I have had that messed up and 'stop working' is and only has been, the N64 game sharks, which we all have to admit were the shit's of the shit anyway, hell the N64 system itself is pure shit otherwise. Some good games on there, but compared to other systems of the time, N64 is a true low point, and besides anything 'great' was also put on other systems anyway, even the Zelda games too. So never will miss that machine, though it still works just fine, hey anyone wanna buy this piece of shit system? You MAY love it hehe 2 dollars!!!! Plus 800-something for shipping it, unless you want to pick it up yourself. ;D

But I am still with you, however as far as code wise, I have any and all for all my games so far, so other then the last few PSX titles I am 'bugging' Hybrid for, as far as any retro systems code wise I am done and have all I wish. (Well unless some magic happens and a few NES or other wise retro games fall out of the sky, but otherwise, I still would not care, heck I have always got any and all games I care about anyway, so games dropping out of the sky for me, would be nice, I mean well could sale them I guess.

Kanenite-nation was the first gsc sistersite for members who were unhappy with the administration that ultimately caused Gscentral.com to fail. It was created by an ex-member of gsc.com: DGenerateKane. Rune ultimately split from gsc.com and that is why GSC.org exists now. In the end, the majority of splitting members knew about Rune's site instead of Kane's, and that is why we are all there now.

Also, Kanenite-nation isn't gone, it's merely moving. There wasn't really a whole lot going on in that forum at the time. Just a lot of bitching and whining.

I kinda agree with Amy about the older cheat devices. I have an "overseas" device for the PS1 that enables to play my game backups I've burned from the originals & it works like the old Game Xploder.(which I have, for USA PS1)

Everyone's goung to emulators now, and most emus now have a code-hacking function, most of which operate as a Pro Action Replay or GS does.

To use my Genesis PAR, I gotta hook the Gen up to our big TV & tweak the picture alignment to get all the codes in a set to appear on the screen, & it takes a lot longer to hack even a simple code than it does with an emu. Plus, there's the limitation on the #s of codes one can use at one time with a real PAR or GG. However, I will never chuck my real GEN, SNES, SNES, NES, Atari 2600, Odyssey, Vectrex, or original Pong console.

Perhaps someone will make an XBox emu with a code-hacking feature.

Considering the method being used to emulate xbox games, you could just use something like artmoney to hack codes...
