The tools will also allow users to apply "filters, transitions and themes" to their videos before sharing, as well as text, stickers and personalized audio tracks.
Meanwhile, Sony has introduced a pre-download feature for users who have pre-ordered titles in advance. This means players can pre-download pre-ordered content up to four days prior to release.
"If your auto-download feature is set up correctly, it will automatically pre-download your pre-ordered game so you can play the second the game is unlocked on release day," the blog reads.
More than 7 million PlayStation 4 systems have been sold as of April 6, Sony reported Wednesday.
