  • Consumer Alert - Netflix Scam

SUSQUEHANNA VALLEY, Pa. - A "phishing" scam is going after Netflix users.

    Here's how it works:

    - When you are logging on to Netflix a pop-up window will appear saying your username has been suspended.

    - You will be told to contact member services.

    - You are given a number to call, except the number won't be for Netflix.

    - The people you call will ask you to pay for their help and will ask for your credit card number.

The Better Business Bureau says you need to hang up and change your Netflix username and password.

I really doubt the actual netflix site would have a phishing scam... to their own services.

That's probably just a fake website passing off as the real netflix site. But we will never know because that no-name page doesn't cite any sources.

Phishing most likely implies it's a link via e-mail. If this was anyone targeting the actual side it'd be widespread news.
