  • Pelvicthrustman's Mastercode Finder (PS2)

    By pelvicthrustman

Mastercode Finder is now version 2.11

Mastercode Finder analyzes ELF files (PS2 Executables) and generates RAW 90-type master codes (compatible with ps2rd/Codebreaker 9.3+).

You can find ELF files using Elf Extractor (PS2 Hacking Toolkit)

    New in version 2.10
    - Support for ELFs with multiple executable segments (better overall compatibility)
    - (Further) Improved sceSifSendCmd detection
    - Improved main-type analysis (less results but more likely to work)
    - Drag and drop support
Note: If you do not get any results make sure to search the CD/DVD for .ELF files - the main ELF may not have any useful mastercodes

    Update 2.11
    - Added support for ELFs with no string table (fixes crashing with Katamari Damacy)
    - Prettier icon (added LOD)

Post any errors that Mastercode Finder generates here (in their entirety) and I'll see what I can do to fix it.

If Mastercode Finder fails to generate a mastercode for a game please run (from command prompt)

    mastercode_finder_cmd -v "ELF file path" > report.txt

and send me the report.txt file so I can take a look at it.

Interesting. Though I'll likely stick with ps2dis and labelmates.

Someone should add this to the downloads section.

      Interesting tool.

pelvicthrustman should add .bin support from actually game dumps and should look into updating the tool to make master codes for compressed elf files such as Gran Turismo 3. I do like the GUI for it, back in the days I used to use Master04 to finder Master Codes before I came across Nach Brenner's Xploder guide.

Another possible update is tot use the memcpy jal with the program does find and give you the option to spit out all the possible master codes for all the devices (just to save time). Since the ScePadRead memcpy jal is used the most i dont see an issue for it to spit out an F type +3. Just a thought.

It kinda reminds me of a tool Pyriel made to generate Master Codes, PAL2NTSC, Y-Fix, Y-Fix2, X-Fix, X-Fix2, Skip Movies codes for PS2 called CodeSeek
