  • PS2 ELF Search Tool

    By pelvicthrustman

PSX-Scene developer pelvicthrustman has released a handy updated tool for PlayStation 2 owners. ELF Search Tool, a hex data search application for PS2 ELF files, has been updated to 1.01, fixing various bugs. Take a look at what the developer has to say below.

Update 1.01 fixes the following bugs:

The error message "No valid search Search patterns" leaves the UI in an unusable state

The error message "No valid search Search patterns" should read "No valid search patterns"

The error message "No ELF file selected" leaves the UI in an unusable state

Search errors leave the text "Searching..." in the result text box instead of clearing it

Certain patterns are incorrectly identified as invalid

Replace pattern mask is ignored (masked bits in replace patterns should be replaced by result data instead of zero

Elf Search Tool is a hex data search program for PS2 ELFs. It includes functionality to search for partial hex patterns (via bitmasking) as well as automatically generate PNACH files from hex strings located in an ELF file. A full manual is included in readme.txt (also accessible from the 'Help' button in the program.
