Glevland, famous for improving on Linux things on the PS3, had previously published some info on how 'PS3 HDD Decryption' works, but this was only available to Linux guru's, but now thanks to the info released recently regarding the EID in CEX2DEX converts, scene developer naehrwert along with the help of Glevand and @flat_z have published today a Proof of Concept for PS3HDD decryption.
(Proof of Concept, a test to prove something intended is actually possible, conceptually identical to the intended final product.)
Remember this is only a Proof of Concept, but with this and all the talk I see recently in the 'PS3DevWiki', we could soon see thanks to these hard-working 'scene' developers, a easy way to swap PS3 HDD's and access them on PC, without all the 'locks' that Sony placed on it.
