This is the very thing that some people in the scene were scared was going to happen, because of how horrible the whole PSN server setup is, with the current tools that been released, a new 'backdoor' has been found that allows Custom Firmare users to log in to part of the new PSN network even though it is now running on v3.66!
It's like the old movie of 'War Games', but now we are using PS3's and high-speed networks, and changing the settings, it is not our fault that Sony left every single system even the retail boxes with hidden features in them that developers should only have access to, and besides they should have fixed this problem already, they had a whole month of 'downtime' to do what? -- Put back 'online' the same old un-fixed network, so hopefully by us reporting this problem, Sony will do the right thing, and finally fix the god damm mess!
This news comes from a forum member on PS3News by the name of HACKDEPS3 and he details the various steps needed.
Again, I like to make it clear we don't support or recommend you do the above steps, we are only reporting the news in the hope Sony fixes the new 'backdoor' ASAP, and the developers of the above programs like 'Rebug' are totally against this, and will NOT support and might even patch it themselves or 'block' it from happening in a future update.
