  • Ultimate-Cheatz.de Forums Closing Down

Due to the difficulty of hacking new systems and the subsequent shrinking of the hacking scene, UC has decided to close their forums.

Here's the official word (in German): LINK

And a very rough translation using Google Translate:

    ___________________________________

Dear visitor, for many many years of this board, the board was bad code out when it came to code for all systems.

Since the new console generation, it is not possible to change something in games by codes.

Because, unfortunately, the community has been divided ever, it is unfortunately necessary to close the forum.

This step, I'm very reluctant, however, remains for me at the moment no other choice.

Someday we'll meet again, but for now remains for me to say soon.

The board is not deleted, there should be fals in the future, a new Board under this domain, this board will be represented as an archive there.

I will also send a newsletter out there should be times so far.

I want to thank you for the many wonderful years to thank!

    Special thanks,
Godshin (European operator code base and second Admin) and Sephiroth (Code Masters Project)

They were memorable years, but eventually the day when we say goodbye to soon be coming.

    Yours sincerely,
    Martin Pohl
    Operator of Ultimate Cheatz Forums

Damn that sucks. Almost feels like the death of arcades... Hopefully you never close your doors Lazy as there has been countless hours invested in making these codes (even though for older systems). I think what needs to happen is either all the sites left ban together to continue the scene, or the scene needs to change all together by incorporating other material along with code hacking to survive. Eventually I think consoles will have a crash like they did in the 80's and hacking will become possible again after the reset of events. PC is definitely a viable option that the scene needs to pursue as the tools are already there such as Cheat Engine,Tsearch, etc. Hopefully all our time spent in the scene doesn't go to waste...
Not taking any requests at this time.

Bored? Watch some of my hacks here.

Rest assured, GameHacking.org will never close its doors. Even if we became a quiet, little corner of the internet, with two members talking about the good old days and handling requests from the stray senior citizen who still finds NES cheats interesting, we'd remain. Heh, but that's not going to happen.

Actually, we've already begun embracing PC game hacking, and there are some large plans in the works in that regard, once our current DB and site renovation are complete. Other new areas of interest will be added as well, and there is a barrage of new events planned for the very near future. It will be an interesting year in the hacking scene.

Sucks, bites, and blows. It seems that The only games that can be hacked now are NDS and PC games. I still hack PSX and N64 codes, however, and will be posting the new codes I've found as soon as I organize my notes.

I don't get their explanation. Just because the newest generation of game consoles can't be hacked, they close their forum? What about the many other game systems that can and will always beable to be hacked. The best systems ever created were the NES, SNES, and Genesis anyway. They are around 20 years old and people have been hacking those systems for many many years. And guess what, there's still plenty of more codes for those systems that can and should be hacked. It wouldn't bother me a bit if there was another video game crash like 1983. Maybe today's youth would have to revert back to playing the NES, SNES, and Genesis. And then they will realize that those systems are actually better.

Now broadcasting from the underground command post. Deep in the bowels of a hidden bunker. Somewhere under the brick & steel of a nondescript building. We've once again made contact w/ our leader, OSG

There's also Wii, and soon to be PS3.

Does anyone know about the main site being down? And is there a mirror of the site anywhere?

They don't archive every page. I usually go through the index page manually to get what I want.
