If you don’t want to buy an Action Replay – or can’t (depending on where you live) - for whatever reason, you can make your own. This is going to involve a soldering iron for added fun.
Ingredients
* Soldering iron + solder
* The Action Replay software
* A USB cable you no longer need. This could be from an old mouse or any piece of hardware that uses a USB
* A Microsoft memory card
* Screwdriver to get the back off the memory card
Let’s Get Started
Remove all the screws on the back of your memory card and remove.
Cut your USB cable so that it’s around 6 inches long. Strip it so that the coloured wires inside are bare for maybe an inch. You should see wires that are coloured black, red, white and green.
You now need to solder the bared wires on the USB cable to the terminals inside the memory card. With the memory card chip board facing up and the port at the top, the order or terminals-wires is:
* black
* not used
* green
* white
* red
This is hard to visualize so I’ll get a photo of that sorted out!
You won’t be able to screw the back of the memory card in place yet because the USB cable is too thick, so what we need to do is burn some of the plastic away to make room for it. We can do this with the hot soldering iron.
Hey presto, when the back is screwed on, the USB cable fits snugly in the new hole.
Install the Action Replay software (link above) and then plug your new Action Replay into a USB port. When Windows asks where the driver is, locate the Action Replay and use that – the driver is in the drivers folder.
