To this day I'm still baffled on why normal controllers don't have button stuff for turbo and macros. There's a reason people go to 3rd party controllers, I'm not sure why console makers never embraced these buttons and found a use for them or at least sell a separate controller instead of just giving it the cheater treatment. I've seen people with coordination problems who can't handle button mashers or moves like Mortal Kombat needing forward forward back back low kick for Shang Tsung's 3 upward fireballs and those buttons were the solution to those barriers. If they were genuinely worried about online usage, games can throw in options under their control sections to enable/disable the usage of turbo and macros during online since it'd be Sony, Nintendo, and Microsoft making the controllers and consoles and then Microsoft blocking 3rd party controllers that go around the game options to block turbo/macros could have a more legitimate excuse for blocking them. Putting turbo and macro buttons on the controller could make use of space better than a pointless oversized XBox logo taking up half of the controller.
