  • Dynarec now working on PicoDrive and gpSP

    What's Dynarec?

Dynamic Recompilation is basically a feature of the operating system that lets a program recompile some code at runtime. Having native support for such a feature basically means improved speed for emulators.

Emulators will not get this for free though, the developers of emulators on the vita will need to implement Dynarec in their code. Yifanlu provided some pointers on how this is achieved, and now we see the fruits of that work grow as more and more emulators start using dynarec to enhance their performance significantly.

I love those emulators. I just got a psp again. I doubt I'll go back to vita unless it's opened wide open and hacking becomes easy. I can't believe noone made a signed psx to psp eboot creator yet.

I enjoy RetroArch a lot, however, it can't play ROM hacks very well. PicoDrive was slow and stuttery when I used it last, so I'm happy to see that it's finally getting a boost in speed.
      I'm retired from code hacking.
      I do not take requests!

I dunno, the only time I had problems with picodrive on the psp is when I tried certain sega cd games. I ain't that mad about that tho. I hardly play Sega CD. I play a limited amount of Sega Genesis games but I don't remember any slowdown.

PicoDrive standalone version working just fine.

its problem with the all-in-one emulators, they can't handle PicoDrive properly.
lee4 Does Not Accept Codes Requests !
When lee4 asks a question it does not mean lee4 will look at your game

Ah, yeah, I didn't remember it running slower. I don't try those all in one emulators unless it has a system I wanna emulate that don't have a standalone emulator. I'm used to standalone emulators now. The one I tried on PC really blowed cause of the graphical interface. It was a chore to enter any cheat codes. It's like using ms dos or something.
