Nintendo is bringing back the NES — only a little smaller.

Today the company announced what it's calling the Nintendo Entertainment System: NES Classic Edition. It looks just like a NES, only a lot tinier, and it comes with 30 games built in. You can connect it to your TV via a HDMI cable, and it also includes a controller designed to work just like the iconic rectangular NES gamepad. (The new controller will also connect to a Wii Remote, so that you can use it to play Virtual Console games on a Wii or Wii U.)

In addition to HDMI support and a lack of cartridges, the new mini-console also features one useful modern convenience: multiple suspend points, so that you won't have to fumble around with passwords when you start playing a game again. The NES Classic Edition will be available on November 11th for $59.99.

Here's the complete list of games:

    Balloon Fight
    Bubble Bobble
    Castlevania
    Castlevania II: Simon's Quest
    Donkey Kong
    Donkey Kong Jr.
    Double Dragon II: The Revenge
    Dr. Mario
    Excitebike
    Final Fantasy
    Galaga
    Ghosts'N Goblins
    Gradius
    Ice Climber
    Kid Icarus
    Kirby's Adventure
    Mario Bros.
    Mega Man 2
    Metroid
    Ninja Gaiden
    Pac-Man
    Punch-Out!! Featuring Mr. Dream
    StarTropics
    Super C
    Super Mario Bros.
    Super Mario Bros. 2
    Super Mario Bros. 3
    Tecmo Bowl
    The Legend of Zelda
Zelda II: The Adventure of Link

It's basically a game compilation. With games that would cost you alot on virtual console.

We discuss everything about the NES Classic Console, including how adorable it is, the quality of the 30 included games & which games are missing, concerns about the emulations quality, and if we might expect classic versions of the SNES, N64, and GameBoy? All this and more in our classic NES console discussion!

Take that and a RaspberryPi3 in the case and have multiple systems emulated with HDMI output and Bam killer all in one system.

Not really all in one since you gotta buy the controller yourself and download the games, OS, and buy the Hard Drive, AC Adapter, HDMI cable. You get more but for people who grew up with the system they can buy a real all in one system and not have to buy anything else.

When this comes out I'll buy it then try the mod I suggested, you don't need an HDD just a large SD and it can cover the 16bit era and 8bit era with room to spare. I'm sure these controllers are some form of USB controller which can always be adapted.

They are wiimote controllers with long cords. You can use classic controller pros too but you'll probably want an extension cord, if they exist.

Here's what classic games will actually look like on the HD NES Classic Edition.

New trailer shows improved color matching, sharpness over previous official downloads.

                      The cords are really short.

Sounds like it's impossible to use any kind of codes with this system. Bummer.

As tempted as I am to buy one, I won't because I just got rid of my real one not too long ago.

Well, the thing can connect to the computer, so somewhere down the line we may be able to add our own games, add more games, add custom firmware, use codes. Who knows.
