The author of the map is listed as “SNAPMAP,” meaning it’s probably one of the levels the developer created to populate the SnapMap community at launch. It’s a great example of just how much you can do with the editor, and I’m really looking forward to seeing what actual players will make in the coming weeks.
I haven't played the new Doom yet, but that doesn't show 1 second of the editor, that whole video doesn't show much of anything mind boggling. Enemies appearing from air, shoot kill, continue. Didn't show me anything special about it that couldn't be done in any other game, name a game that can't teleport enemies in on the spot these days. Technically the old Doom didn't spawn and teleport enemies at the same time, but they'd have fooled you into thinking they did. I was hoping for maybe something like "ERMAGERD! Here's some crazy examples of stuff you can do that can't be done in other games" or something. Whoever said that in bold is a clown hyping it up, it's just a video of gameplay, has nothing to do with editing. Even just the tiny crumbs of what I saw for Doom 3's map editor was interesting. No tools in this video, just a person playing a level. Run around, shoot enemies, open doors, done. I described it incredibly generically but that's really just what the video is. I'm still hooked on old Zandronum and the other source ports.

After the new Doom was released yesterday, Vice discovered its SnapMap feature had already been used to recreate one of the levels from the original Doom. "The original Doom thrived on a strong modding community, and id is supporting that tradition here in a great way."

Sharing videos for both the old and new versions of the E1 M2 nuclear plant map, Vice also applauded the interface for the new SnapMap tool, which lets users design their own levels, even on consoles. SnapMap includes tools for arranging objects, placing enemies, and even triggering events when a player reaches certain points in a level. "It's incredibly easy to use considering how much you can do, and so far I've had little trouble uploading, downloading, and browsing for user-made levels."

Newegg is also offering a $15 discount code for PC, Xbox One, or PS4 versions.
