  • Nintendon't has been Revived by other developers

Thanks to 47iscool for the news submission.

Nintendont is obviously not a modification of the MIOS, like DIOS MIOS (lite), because the vWii does not have a MIOS.

It is neither a emulator, because the vWii is not powerful enough to emulate GameCube games.

Nintendont is more like an interpreter which runs Gamecube games natively.

"I'm not sure if most people know it or not but the program Nintendont has been revived by others programmers/developers and is much better than the previous alpha release by crediar.

It seems it is being constantly updated each day too, to support/fix more games.

I have tried it myself and can say it loads games even faster than Devolution does. If you liked dios mios you'll love this as it has the features of DM with loading speed that is faster than Devo. Not everything runs perfect but progress is being made pretty quickly

    Features:
    • Full speed loading from an USB device, or a SD card
    • Loads 1:1 and compressed .ISO disc images
    • Works on Wii and vWii on Wii U
    • Loads games as extracted files (FST)
    • Memory card emulation
    • HID controller support via USB
    • Custom button layout when using HID controllers
    • Cheat code support
    • WiiRd (only on Wii)
    • Changeable configuration of various settings
    • Reset/Power off via button combo (R + Z + Start) (R + Z + B + D-Pad Down)
    • Advanced video mode patching, force progressive and force 16:9 widescreen
    • Auto boot from loader
    • Disc switching

    What NINTENDONT doesn't do yet:
    • Allow use of the Nintendo GameCube Microphone
    • Play audio via disc audio streaming
    • Bluetooth controller support (Wiimote, Wii U Pro, ..)
    • Use real memory card

    What NINTENDONT will never do:
    • Play retail discs
    • Play backups from writable DVD media

    Quick Installation:

    Download Nintendont
Put it in /apps/Nintendont/ (along with meta.xml and icon.png) and rename it boot.dol."

If some games won't boot make sure you have both IPL.bin and font_ansi.bin in the root of whatever device you are loading your games from. Another thing, it has issues with some codes that DM doesn't, such as black screening or just not working period.

I cant help you, because I never used Nintendont.

On Real old Wii no need for Nintendont because there no benefit over DM.

In vWii mode Nintendont cant use Gecko style codes and needing extra bin files to boot games is big let-down for me.

I was telling others some extra info they might need. And IMO it will be better than DM one day, it loads games a lot faster than DM as it runs in Wii mode ans will have audio streaming. It still has a way to go but it gets updates about every day.

Are you use USB or SD method?

          I highly doubt it.

of course it will get updates.

I will stick to DML on my wii.

It says on the page it will have audio streaming. Also think about it:

            Wii CPU speeds
            and
            Wii RAM size.

I also use DM still and will until this program gets about the same compatibility or better. I use all three loaders.

I use USB to load games. And it's actually a bit faster than Devo on some things, fast loading is optimized for ISO format, fst is slower rightnow on Nintendont.

Not sure but I think it's still required.

We already know about four games (Mario Party 7 EUR, Mario Power Tennis EUR, Harry Potter POA EUR, Quidditch World Cup EUR) that were broken by this so I guess many more could be affected by this,
so any game that freezes in-game or doesn't boot at all might now work again.

Great work of sabykos for finding this bug.

                          controller problem

Please help. Nintendont works perfectly but I want to see if you can help me with a controller problem. I'm playing resident evil 2 using a ps4 controller and all the buttons work and usually I would use the Dpad to move the character. And you're able to run by holding the square button but only if I control the characters with the analog stick. When I try to use the dpad I can't move. It feels like the square button is cutting off the dpad when I press it. I hope you understand what I'm saying and hope you can help.

I don't know what to tell you about that. I don't use emulators. Perhaps one of the other hackers who does can help.
