New Code Request System

I integrated a code request system today. It's one of the things I've had in the back of my mind for the site.

To request a code, find the game you want to request a code for and go to it's page. On the top menu, under your username and avatar, is a "Request"->"Code" menu. Fill out the form with the suggested code title, and for the description briefly explain the effect you want the code to do. After you submit your code, it should appear in two places: On the game's page above the codes, and on the new request page.

Hackers- to fulfill a code request, simply go to the request page and click the Fill link at the bottom. Or, you can go to the game's page and add the code, and at the bottom of the add code form is a drop-down menu to choose the request you're filling. You can also edit a code to fill a request.

Once the request is fulfilled, the request page will show that it's filled and what the name of the new code is.

The system is quite simple now, there are many things I will do to improve it. I can't promise when.

After slapping myself on the forehead, I added it to the main cheat menu at the top, under hackers.

Plans for request system improvement:

• pagination
• filters (system, filled/not filled)
• simple comment system, or integration with forum
• Editing/Deletion (regular users their own, admins all)

Awesome! Now I know what to do when I am bored one day and want to hack something.

You've probably have what I am about to suggest on your todo, but I'll suggest them anyway.
A filter option for system and game for those who hack specific things. The option to choose how many items appear per page. And, if it hasn't already been added (hard to tell at this point), a direct link to the code that achieved what the requester wanted.

Not there yet, it might take a day or you might need some more posts. I don't know what restrictions and or time frame before they show. You could also post a a request in the correct forum and you might get a faster response there.

I think requests posted with this new system need to be publicized some way, otherwise they are likely to be ignored since there are so many games in the db...

They are publicized on the requests page. If someone wants to do a request, they can find them all there.

EDIT: will i get an email notification if one of my requests is filled?
another suggestion: allow registered users to vote for other's requests. Then allow the requests page to get sorted by the most voted...
