Yeah, that will happen if your home network isn't using that IP address range. You'd be better off changing the addressing scheme on your router.
If you don't want to do that, you could also use a crossover network cable and connect directly to your PS2, which would allow you to hack, but not allow you to use the internet at the same time (unless you were also connected to the internet, via WiFi). You'd still have to change the IP address on your computer, of course.
