jPSXdec is a handy program to have. It allows you to explore and decode various PlayStation files. It requires Java, so keep that in mind: https://kenai.com/projects/jpsxdec/pages/Home
Some compression programs:

There is another website of interest that I bookmarked long ago, but the name eludes me at the moment. When I find it, I'll post it here. It had info about PS1 protections, or detailed info on certain games that used them.Code:http://www.angelfire.com/indie/themabus/blog/

Trimesh (Assemblers Forums) is working on a whole new pcb with Caetla as the program of choice and a USB socket to hack cheats with and do anything else Caetla can do. Once he has it perfected we can finally hack PSX with modern PCs for those who prefer the real thing, I will post whenever there are updates on it's progress.Spoiler Alert! Click to view...

Does anyone have a rom backup of PSXAmp?
I've flashed it with Caetla 0.33 (newer version doesn't work on this cart) IN AR MODE and I've lost MP3 player functionality, after switching to MP3 MODE only [START] text appear (just like when booting CD in AR/Caetla). As far as i know I need ~128kb ROM (or less), I've tried to flash ROM from CCL MP3 Smart-DJ but it's 256kb :/
ALso I'm looking for ROM of Action Replay Professional 3.2

I downloaded X-FLASH_1.2B3, did the swap trick, installed Caetla 0.34 and 0.35, both presented me with a loading screen scrolling down into infinityI had the GS switch in the UP position while flashing if that has anything to do with it?
Just trying to run backups with the GS cart. I'm actually surprised I found a more than decent thread on flashing firmware to these bad boys, I feel like it's the 90's all over again from dragging out all my old stuff. Any help on this would be highly appreciated.
Here is the scrolling screen error in action. :|

The scrolling screen is just a PAL signal being displayed on a NTSC only TV, as far as I can tell.

Ran a vm box of Win XP 32bit because the ar3stop executable refuses to run on a 64bit OS. After patching it changed the file size to 512KB which will not fit onto my EEPROM since It's only 256KB.

any gameshark/action replay cart does have music cd player
can play not-same-region game and backup
1. have legit same region game inside as console is. (make sure the back button inside disc apartment is held down)
2. goto gameshark (2.2 or higher) cd player this will stop disc spinning
3. swap disc
4. boot gamelee4 Does Not Accept Codes Requests !
When lee4 asks a question it does not mean lee4 will look at your game

You wouldn't happen to have some other roms such as Zippy 0.33, Action Replay 3.3 Innovational, Ahoy 0.34. and EMS 1.55? I have looked online and finding roms for this is impossible.

Sorry for the necrobump, but thought this was relevant here as it was mentioned several times.
Finally, after several years, I got the time (and equipment) to dump my GSPro 3.1 ROM.
I used a Windows XP SP3 (32 bits) computer, with motherboard with built-in parallel port. I repeated the procedure 2 times for each BIOS configuration (Normal, ECP, bi-directional; EPP didn't allow the connection to get through) and I'm happy to say all dumps had same checksums (CRC32, MD5 and SHA-1).
I used AR3FLASH CD 0.30 along with AR3FLASH tools 0.32. Dumped with following command:
ar3bkup gspro31.rom
Anyone willing to flash this in their GSPro cart and confirm it's working?
https://mega.nz/#!dA11UYKb!tELSwBz9L...b7bOJ35opOOJ1A
Once extracted:
file: gspro31.rom
CRC32: 94313B12
MD5: 7E36E840DC1976CFA7FE35D0423C7420
SHA-1: 14FF71FFB2498F1671E555133765F9EFB2DEA950
FYI: I got this cart lose/used several years ago from eBay. Knowing it was never dumped, I never used it or 'wrote' to it. I never even checked if it had codes/saves from the previous owner.

In his video, you can see he started with a value (item value) that he already found so he worked from there. In Batman with Riddler's Trophies however, I have no value that I can work from. it's nearly impossible to find an address, i could not even find a display address. so i'm stuck at step 1. CTG told me that Riddler's trophies all have individual addresses and it would be hard to find the address, but he did gave me some tips, i have yet to try it out. I didn't get time to get back into it because i'm busy with school now, but I've taken a break from all this because i was just getting discouraged failing at all these games. and so i've just taken a break and been steadily learning more, watching videos and asking people for advice for now so the next time I tackle the problem, I can try all those things.
